As a husband and father of 2 beautiful little princesses I know how important it is to capture special memories that will last a life time. I got married to the stunning love of my life on December 31st 2015 and know how important it is to have a photographer who you have total confidence in with a style that you love! Having been on both sides allows me to understand what you are going through so we can work together to make your special day the fairy tale you always imagined.
Growing this business, like any business was slow to start but really took off about 2 years ago when I started doing commercial photography. It started with shooting real estate photos & video for the hard working and progressive team at Royal LePage Lannon Realty and networking with local businesses like the innovative team at Shout Media. Over the last two years I have had the pleasure of working with Open Mind Interiors, Balmoral Park Acura, Shout Media, Royal LePage Lannon Realty, Lakehead University, Lakehead Thunder Wolves, Pinewood Ford, Fort William First Nations, Anishnawbe Mushkiki, Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Center, Thunder Bay Health Clinic, Lakehead Ironworks and the list keeps growing every day!
Growing up in Oshawa on the outskirts of the GTA in Southern Ontario, my love for photography was always there. When I was young I would steal my parent’s camera on family trips to Algonquin Park and capture landscape photos and patiently wait for the film to be developed weeks later. I really enjoyed seeing the printed images, and seeing the confused looks on my parents faces when they couldn’t remember which one of them took the extra photos.
It wasn’t until my 4th year at Lakehead University that my passion for photography took over my life and made me completely change gears. After graduating from LU and moving back to Oshawa to pursue photography, I finally moved back to Thunder Bay to be with the Love of my life, to start our new lives and a new career. If it wasn’t for my wife’s complete and total faith in me, working twice as hard so I could build a business from the ground up Dan Garrity Media wouldn’t be what it is today.
